Palomar 12 was initially classified as a globular cluster before the object was considered a dwarf galaxy for a time (‘Capricornus Dwarf Galaxy’). Today, it is believed that Palomar 12 originally belonged to the Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy (SagDEG). Palomar 12 is about 30% younger than most globular clusters in the Milky Way.
